Website’s Content to be Re-Focused
When I launched OutdoorsKentucky.Com last fall my goal was to share a lifetime of fish and wildlife know-how, in the context of traditional outdoors coverage, but today I am beginning the process of re-focusing my website’s content.
Emphasis will shift to rural living and being more self-sufficient.
It’s never too late to realize the dream of buying land in the country, far from the pollution, traffic and noise of city suburbs. Hunting and fishing have always been a big part of living on the land. You’ll save time and money if you recreate on your own property.
So I will be making changes to my website, concentrating on fishing local ponds and streams, and hunting in the “backyard,” with emphasis on putting food on the table.
On our farmstead we’ll make open land more wildlife-friendly, and learn to manage woodlands for fuel and wildlife. We’ll grow vegetables in the garden, build a compost pile, heat with wood, and generally get back to basics. Readers will get tips on butchering and cooking wild game, and preparing fish for the table.
In upcoming weeks you’ll notice gradual changes, including a general store, a wider variety of useful information, lots of links, and more pages filled with hands-on projects.
Drive fewer miles on weekends, invest in land, and have more time to hunt, fish and enjoy being outdoors!
